Throughout the building, warm wood cladding and concrete floors are accented with the school’s signature colors of red and gold. The BIG-designed interiors are designed to accommodate future scientific innovation, incorporating elements such as reconfigurable classrooms and modular seating.
Since joining BIG in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the development of the organization and its strategic priorities, Sheela has transformed BIG from Bjarke Ingels’ Danish architectural firm into an internationally acclaimed company led by design, community and innovation.
Shaped by the movement of the water, the surrounding park is designed by BIG Landscape and manages storm surges through sloping terraces, vegetated dunes, and wetland gardens that slow and absorb the flow.
